LO2 KTA 9 : Analysis of successful related brands

This is a good logo because of how simple and recognisable it is. It is applying to look at because of the way the change colour from light blue to dark blue then back to light. This colour layout makes it attractive to children as they will like the bright colours. Sky is a very successful media conglomerate and has a easy to recognise logo.

The milky way is an iconic chocolate bar that has been around for many many years and is very recognisable. It plays on is name and makes the design based on the  that we live in.

The Tramlines logo is smart because is uses a mixture of road traffic sighs make its logo.
Every thing in the logo is some sort of traffic sigh.
the left and right sides of the T are arrows. The middle of the T is an road sigh  that show yo witch why the road is going.

LO2 KTA 6:Brief and Mood board and Imaginary Entity

Am going to making promotional material for the Steel city fest. This is a music festival that is based in Sheffield. I will make A logo, ticket and A billboard. I will be focusing on rock genres.

The type of  people who would attend Steel City Fest

Age = 21- 40
Male=58%
female=42%
social grade=A, B, C1
A,B,C1=82%
attenders=70000 +

Median age:
Student%=15%
Circulation= 34,638
Readership=404,739

A Typical Festival Goer

For example a young male Jimmy. He is an avid festival goer and any chance he gets to go see a band he will.
 He is a likely person to attend the festival as he is on forum all the time talking about bands of the same genre. He walks, talks and even dress's like the bands that will be at the Steel City Fest. So he is very likely to go to the festival. The theme of the festival is in line with his interests.

LO1 KTA 5: script

Logo-Long Neck Music

I have firstly chosen the long neck music. The text for the Long Neck Music is in the style of the keep calm and Carry on from World War 2. They have most likely chosen to have this, as that phrase is now back in style. The Long Neck is in bold because that is the name of the record label. The logo its self is a insert picture. Is a music note and giraffe . In my opinion This does not break any ASA rules as is simple and smart.
Ticket-An Event in New York
 The ticket it's self is very clear. It's purpose is to show you information and it does it very well. Every thing is in place and simple. The back-ground  shows a pop-art style representation of the city that the Radio City is based in New York. This piece of music advertisement does not break any ASA rules. as it is very clean cut.

Billboard-For the band The Cure
This billboard for The Cure is very good, as there is not a lot of information but it gets its message across that The Cure are playing at Crystal Castle. One of the main reasons why this one is because it gives you all the you information you will need to know in a couple of seconds. This is good because most of the people who will see it are driving a car and they will not have very long to look at it. To the right are the logos of the companies sponsoring The Cure. This piece of music advertisement does not break any ASA rules.

Flyer-Brick Lane Music Festival
The flyer is for Brick Lane music festival. This flyer works very well as all of the colours are bright and catch your eye. It also works well because there is not a lot of information so it is more appealing because too much information may make it look unattractive. There are, little logos in the top left to show who is hosting the festival. In my opinion  there is no way that this breaks any ASA rules.
Magazine-Cover For The Kings Of Leon
The picture in the back ground is black & white. The black & white makes The Clash look classic and original. All of the upper text is in bold and a large font size to make the news about The Clash appear more important. The text on the bottom half is all in a smaller font then the top. This is to reiterate that the top half of text is the most important. This piece of music advertising does not break any ASA rules.

LO1 KTA 3:Five pieces of graphic design-full analysis

Logo-Long Neck Music
The purpose of a logo is to make an image that is identifiable to a company or organization. The format of the image above is a logo for the record label Long Neck Music. There is a giraffe above Long Neck Music, which is the name of the company. The content of the image is a giraffe with no legs or tail. This is done to make the giraffe look like a music note. There is also the name of the record label underneath. The text for the Long Neck Music is in the style of the “keep calm and Carry on” from the World War 2 proper gander. This is to relate it to being a British company.  The logo its self is an insert picture. In my opinion this does not break any ASA rules as is simple and smart. The target audience for Long Neck Music is people who are into Irish folksinger with in the UK.

Ticket-An Event in New York

The purpose of a ticket is to show you information about a specific event such as seat number, row section of the building you are in, which entrance to use and how much the ticket cost. Every thing is in place and simple this makes it very clear and easy to read. The background shows a pop-art style representation of the city that the Radio City is based in New York. As the name of the event and the picture suggest the target audience for this ticket is the resident of New York and surrounding areas.  This piece of music advertisement does not break any ASA rules, as it is very clean cut.  The ticket has the same information but in two different places left and the right. This is so that when the ticket is ripped on entry you still have a copy of the relevant information.

Billboard-For the band The Cure

This is a billboard; the purpose of a billboard is to raise awareness for a product or event. A billboard will not have a lot of information on it; this is because the people who will be viewing it will most likely be in their car. So they need to be able to take in as much information as possible with out being distracted. This billboard is primarily black and green. This will have been done to represent the type of music, which The Cure plays. The main image on the billboard is a picture of the bands lead singer Robert smith. This is so that anyone one who sees it will more then likely relates it back to The Cure. Along the right side of the billboard are the sponsors, which are Heineken and Virgin radio. Heineken will most likely the main drink at their concerts being sold so they will also have sponsor ship deal. Underneath the Cure’s name are the sporting acts. The target audience for this will be fans of The Cure.  This piece of music advertisement does not break any ASA rules.

Flyer-Brick Lane Music Festival

The purpose of a flyer is to get the attention of passes by and to give relevant information. The flyer is for Brick Lane music festival. This flyer works very well as a flyer because all of the colors are bright and catch your eye. It also works well because there is not a lot of information so it is more appealing because too much information may make it look unattractive. The information present is just the very basics, date of the festival, bands that will be playing, location and cost. There are little logos in the top left to show who is hosting/supporting the festival. There are two black bars with information on them I think that this is meant to be a brick. The type of people that will be going to this event will be fans of classic rock with in London and the rest of the UK. In my opinion there is no way that this breaks any ASA rules.
Magazine-Cover For The Clash

A magazine cover is meant to attract the attention of people so that will buy the magazine. This magazine cover does this by making the image black and white with a very bright pink that will make the cover stand out from others. The picture od The Clash is in black & white. The black & white makes The Clash look classic and original. All of the upper text is in bold and a large font size to make the news about The Clash appear more important then the rest. The text on the bottom half is all in a smaller font then the top. This is to reiterate that the top half of text is the most important. The target audience will be fans of The Clash and rock, there will also be the people who buy the magazine normally .This piece of music advertising does not break any ASA rules.
